Hi Everyone-
I’m sorry I disappeared last week without any notice, the hubby has been a little stressed out at work lately and the economic downturn put a little extra strain on us. So you know what we decided to do? We decided to spend a little money and go on a cheap family vacation to the beautiful beaches of Ventura County, California. It’s not Malibu, heh, but it’s very affordable and it was a great time- the kids loved the beach.
This is a little late, but here is last weeks Albertsons Weekly Ad highlights, I’ll post this weeks ad tonight. – As always, please feel free to comment below or send me an email!

Whoa and wowzas.
Just got my hands on the Albertsons Weekly Ad for the week of 8/10 to 8/16, and let me tell you- there’s some great deals in here!
I’m eying Albertsons’ Beef Loin Top Siloin Steak for only $2.99 a pound. I’m planning on buying 6 lbs for less than $18 and then with the left overs I’m going to chop them up and put them into a delicious wheat quesadilla. My boys and daughter love the quesadillas and they make great snacks.
Check out the ad and see what else is on sale for this week. Don’t forget to leave a comment if you’ve got a great recipe using Albertsons sale items or if you’ve got any questions.

Matt has been begging me to upgrade our home theater system forevvver and I finally caved this weekend. So of course, this means we now have to re-purchase all our DVDs on Blue-ray.
The boys adore Disney. So I couldn’t believe my eyes when I found a way to buy 9 Disney blu rays for less than $10 a piece.
Here’s how I did it

Disney has this club called the Disney Movie Club. It seems a bit like those old CD membership clubs like Columbia House.
- Go to Disney Movie Club and enter the code: 14366
- Purchase 5 Disney movies for $1.00 (you must pay with a credit card to get this price).
- Purchase a Bonus Disney Movie for $11.95.
- Purchase another Bonus Disney Movie for $8.95.
- Purchase 2 Disney movies at their regular price of $29.95.
My Shopping List
- Toy Story Special Edition – TOTAL: $0.20
- Up – TOTAL: $0.40
- Bolt – TOTAL: $0.60
- Monsters, Ink – TOTAL: $0.80
- A Bug’s Life – TOTAL: $1.00
- Toy Story 2 Special Edition – TOTAL: $12.95
- A Christmas Carol – TOTAL: $22.90
- Sky High – TOTAL: $52.85
- James and the Giant Peach – TOTAL: $82.80
That’s only $9.20 Each!

Reader Jerry emailed me this pic from her local Albertsons in Los Angeles (Santa Monica).
This appears to be a city wide ban in Santa Monica and not just for Albertsons. Other cities in California have implemented similar bans:
- Calabasas
- Fairfax
- Long Beach
- Malibu
- Manhattan Beach
- Oakland
- San Francisco
- San Jose
I’m not an environmentalist, but I think this is a good thing. Paper bags are still an option in most places – but I try to use reusable bags as much as I can. Although this can be a little challenging on my big stockpile runs.
Etsy has tons of cute handmade grocery bags like these:

I’m going to put this post up since I get quite a few emails about the subject. I feel like I might even make
this post its own page sometime in the future. heh.
Anyway, yes- I’m a professional couponer and I spend a tooooon of time on this blog. But, you don’t need to invest multiple hours a day couponing because that’s why you’ve got me. I’m here to help guide you and source the deals so you don’t have to spend the time.
So… yes, extreme couponing is awesome, and you can save 101% of the total cost BUT, don’t expect to get $1,300 shopping trips for free every week- there’s a ton of planning that goes into a score like that. However, if you listen to me and do your couponing correctly, you’ll be able to consistently save 30-50% off your weekly trips. that’s a lot of money honey!
What you need to know: well, you need to know the above. You also should check out the Coupon Basics where we list some great stuff like resources on where to get coupons outside of our blog, coupon policies (I have Albertsons Coupon Policy listed, but it’s pretty generic) and more.
You can message me directly or you can leave a comment below and I’ll reply just as quickly.
